Yeah, this sounds like a cute thing to do. However, as much as some people think that the government is in one giant conspiracy to fool the public into believing whatever it wants, the fact is that such a fraud would be discovered and reported immediately. The backlash would be FAR worse than any benefit from announcing that bin Laden was caught.
