Not a Bill Cosby advocate but it seems that he does have some valid points at times. Al Sharpton is so jokey to me. I like Senator Obama but he seems ultra conservative at times. Out of these choices or if you know of some others please feel free to mention them, I cannot choose a leader someone's example that I would like to follow or advice that I would heed to. It seems to me in this era of blatant "bushism" we would be clawing tooth and nail to be organizing some kind of moevement but...no. Is the fight over, or have the rules just changed? Or do think that the people who fought so hard for us, did it in vain?

Call your local NAACP. White people don't have anything like that!

luvvly,
Why do you need one? The Asian community has no recognizable leader for it's race that I can think of. The Whites, the South Americans, the Mongolians, the Central Americans, all seem to do fine without a set 'leader.' So why the call for a Black one? The Mexicans are the community that seems to also desire leadership, and look what they get, nuts that want illegal aliens to have any right that a citizen of the US enjoys. So who stands up? Nutcases, everytime. Why? Because there's a political agenda that transfers power and resources into the greedy hands of Mexican politicians, and with the attempt to have a part of the USA become Mexico. Nutcases!

So what I am trying to say is, "Thank GOD that you don't have a racial leader!"

Look what you had, Rev. Jackson, and Louis Farakan. I'd take Rev. Jackson over Farakan any day, but still they can only be percieved as nuts by the sane world. I'm sure that both have done good things for people. I'm not writing this to cast doubts on that, but I'll bet that if your communities try, they can make things better for themselves. And that only will start on individual effort. Each person has to decide that they are the ones to make the choice to stand, or allow evil to guide the way things are. You aren't going to get it done in Washington D.C. (unless that's where you are living!) , but right where Black neighborhoods are. And this is NOT a new message!

The question this raises in my mind is, why does the "black race" need a "leader"? And a black one at that? For what reason? To unite all blacks in the US on a single political agenda? That would be quite difficult considering that all poeple of all races have different backgrounds with the ensuing varying values and political needs.

I personally would rather see any person of any race or gender unite a large majority of the US on a reasonable political agenda.

Thank you for listening.

I think women and minorities have become complacent - personally, I can't believe that people talk about equality and freedom in the US. Look at the government! Look at the boards of the big corporations! All white men!!! People need to WAKE UP!

I think we need a new party in this country. One that really stands for the rights of all humans, women and men, all shades of brown (because that's all we are, shades of brown)

peace :)
