For what? Just buying gifts doesn't take much time.

Not yet, but I'm working day and night on it. I haven't had a party at my house in 12 years (except family members). I haven't even put up a tree lately. My kids are grown, i have no grandchildren, my husband " doesn't want the trouble". The heck with all of them!!! I'm having a blow out party, decorating my house inside and out, putting the trees up in every room like I used to do.I'm inviting everyone that I love, that is important in my life. When they come in the door, I'll ask them to please take some decoration home with them so I don't have to pack it away I would rather see my friend have my decorations, then have them waste away in my attic storage.I know this will be my best Christmas since my children were young. P.S. my children don't want them.

Ready? As ready as I will ever be. If I see something that a loved one might like, I will get it for them but I am not going to make a point to find a gift for the sake of having a gift to give them.

Biggest issue, budget it, prepare on paper who to buy for and what they like or are into. Make sure others don't buy the same thing and keep receipts. Look around now for ideas. Check every low prices business in town. Watch the store add now.

The biggest thing for me if, maybe not for you, but help others, if you can make babysitting coupons for those with kids if you can watch their kids. Even if its just to help someone’s heat to stay on for the winter. The lord wasn't born on that day, but it is still a day to remember his birth. If you have people you want to buy for that have birthdays between now and then make sure that you didn't buy something they got for their birthday. Think in themes, favorite colors, hobbies, activities, needs they mention, be a secret Santa for a child at a local post office or salvation army, that is if you can afford to do that.

Just think in preparation mode, like when you decided on dinner ideas.

I started Christmas shopping for THIS year on Jan. 2, 2006!!!! I love Christmas. I love seeing it through my children's eyes. But we also celebrate the birth of Jesus. We even have Jesus his own stocking. And my kinds write notes/prayers to Jesus and put them in his stocking every year.

I CAN'T WAIT! Plus, it is our 2nd Christmas in Our new house!
