How about searching Yahoo images for pictures of volcano, tsunami, or earthquake damage. How about images of the fires in San Francisco or Chicago in the 1800's. Images of the japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki after being bombed are widely available. Pictures of european cities in the aftermath of world war II are also widely available. The nightime overhead pictures of Munich, Germany burning after being carpet bombed are particularly disturbing.

How about a photo of the mushroom cloud of an atomic bomb? That would represent annihilation pretty well.
