For me, it all depends on the type of dress or skirt I'm wearing and the type of material. Also it depends on the season. In winter, I have a tendency to wear nylons or tights for at least a little extra warmth. Some materials tend to stick to them. I'd wear a slip then to prevent the skirt from sticking to my legs.

No they don't wear slips anymore, you can see right through their clothing. Some dresses or skirts you should actually wear a slip especially if you are at work ,more professional. Just walk outside in the daytime and look down at yourself , you will see that you can see right through your dress.

Yes women still wear slips, and yes you can still get a variety of different style slips. You just have to shop somewhere other than WalMart.

Slips make clothes lay better, and are more comfortable, that's why I wear them.

Older women still do, out of a habit if nothing else. Today's clothing tends to have enough lining that you do not need one. I think younger women would if they were wearing an outfit that required it and was not already lined. They are easy to find in local department stores.

If the skirt or dress is lined, then there is no need for a slip. If it's unlined, then I wear one for a better look and modesty.
