Lots of pain.......lots of pain, and yes it is detected just like any pregnancy. You will know because the fetus is growing in your fallopian tube which is not very big so you won't be very far along. 2 months at most.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that tubal pregnancy can only be detected by an ultrasound. A woman with a tubal pregnancy will most likely experience severe pain on one side, but this could be a symptom of other problems as well. The best advice I can give is that if you have any sort of worries during pregnancy, call your doctor.

It is detected like a normal pregnancy.
In my case, I suddenly became very dizzy and light headed. There was no pain. I knew something was terribly wrong with me but didn't relate it to the pregnancy.
My doctor told me to go to the hospital immediately. She knew it was a tubal pregnancy.
This situation occurred early in the pregnancy. I don't know what later symptoms would be.

I was 5 weeks when my tube ruptured. After about 4 days late, i started to bleed so i thought i just started my period late. It was the first month that my husband and i tried to get pregnant so i just thought it was a bad period. Now i know the difference. I never had any cramps worse than my normal until the 8th day of bleeding when it ruptured. In the ER, my pregnancy test showed up positive. Never ignore your body signs.

Symptoms:
Lower abdominal or pelvic pain
Mild cramping on one side of the pelvis
Amenorrhea (missed period)
Abnormal vaginal bleeding (usually spotting)
Breast tenderness
Nausea
Low back pain
Signs and tests
The health care provider will perform a pelvic exam, which may reveal tenderness in the pelvic area. A pregnancy test is usually positive (says you are pregnant).

The best way to tell that you are having an ectopic pregnancy is by ultrasound or laproscopy. The signs will differ from women to women, however commen symptoms are:
-low HCG levels,
-dizzieness when you stand up,
-irregular spotting or brown discharge,
-cramping in lower abdomen
-spotting and cramping after intercourse,
-sudden shooting pains around your shoulder blades.
Why ectopic pregnancies occur nobody knows for certain, however commen named factors are:
-blocked follopian tube
-weak sperm
-smoking
-certain STDI's
-repeated abortions
In my case I experienced no pain, so it is not true that all ectopic pregnancy are accompanied by pain.
I hope this helped, good luck to you.

Get yourself a preganacy test if it is positive then you need to set up a doctors appointment. If you have any symptoms like the ones some of the other people said go to the doctor even if the test is negative and your period is more than two weeks late.

some other signs could be brown vaginal spotting or light bleeding, or heavey bleeding if the tube ruptures, dizziness or weakness, shoulder pain, and rectal pressure. although ectopic pregnancies are rare only about 2 in 100 will be ectopic.
It can be caused by a previos ectopic preg., pelvic inflammatory disease, abdominal o tubal surgery, haveing your tubes tied, an IUD in place, maternal smoking, or mutiple abortions.
