I am very familiar with TCOYF; this is a great book for learning about the amazing cycle that's going on inside your body every month. It ought to be a high school textbook . (Also see the book's web site.)

My advice would be to read the book and follow all the methods for detecting your ovulation each month. (BBT, CM, cervical position, etc.) And use over-the-counter ovulation prediction kits as well. You should start to get a very good idea of when you're ovulating. It is possible that you just aren't ovulating when you think you are, and you're having sex at the wrong time.

If it turns out that you aren't finding signs of ovulation, then you may need to turn to a little help from Clomid. None of us want to take unnecessary drugs, especially when trying to get pregnant, but Clomid is a mild drugs (as fertility drugs go), it is safe and widely used, and it will be worth it to have a baby!

Best wishes to you,
Maureen

I haven't personally gotten pregnant using the Taking Charge of Your Fertility Book, but I am currently using the method for birth control. It works really well. Also, when we do plan on having kids it should be real easy to switch to conception mode.

To make your life easier I recommend going to www.tcoyf.com. It's the website that goes with the book. At the website you can purchase the software that goes with it. I think it is $30-$50 or something like that. It makes it a whole lot easier to keep track of your temperature, cervical mucus, etc...Also, the program automatically calculates when it believes you have ovulated. Once you have a month or two in the system, it can assist you with what days you should have sex on to conceive. It is a really nice program.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Good Luck!
