I can not locate any info on it, but the woman who owned it died about a year ago . She was 80 and from NY. The coat looks well made with a lining of silk with a white leather border. It also has a tiny "INTL LADIES GARMENT WORKERS" union tag that appears to be serialized. I dont know any thing about furs and for all I know its not even real. Is there any way to tell if it is real fur?and if it is who made it and when?

"Beekman Place New York" would be the store's location, or the location of where it was made. The union tag tells you who made it.

Beekman Place was named after a prominent family in New York. They were social elitists, so a store or location at Beekman Place probably made and sold real furs.

Some fur tests:

Take it to a local fur store and ask them for more information. If you don't have one in your area, a reputable auction house might be able to tell you more.

All I could find for you was this little blurb... he did live in New York, and was a fur trader, which makes it seem like you may not only have a real fur, but a very valuable one! Maybe this will set you on the right track.

Copy:
Johannes Beekman was born in January 1684. He was the son of Albany residents Johannes Martense and his first wife, Machtelt Schermerhorn Beekman. His father re-married when Johannes was eight. By 1710, nine more children would become part of his immediate family.

In January 1714, he married Esther Wendell at the Albany Dutch church. By 1722, their three children had been christened at the church where he was a frequent baptism sponsor.

Johannes Beekman, Jr. was a fur trader who, after a time in the first ward, set up his home on the east side of Pearl Street. He owned additional property in the city. He served in the militia and also as firemaster. In a relatively short career, he was a second ward mainstay.

In 1728, he was left a share of his father's estate that was divided among a widow and twelve living children. Included in that bequest, was a share in his father's holdings at Kayaderosseras.

Stating that he was "very sick," Johannes Beekman, Jr. filed a will in July 1731. He died in February 1741 and was buried from the Albany church. The will passed probate in January 1743.

Your element is sturdy. you're correct, each and every baby must have the liberty to trust regardless of they pick. Ask a baby in the experience that they position self belief in God, they are going to say certain. provide a baby that may examine a bible, a e book of morman, a LDS bible, and one yet another style of fabric. do not provide that child tutorial cloth, in basic terms the books that declare to have the solutions to a significantly better existence. try this without encouraging them, without manipulating them. i will guarentee you they are going to pick the bible, and through that bible they are going to discover Jesus. yet you received't try this, because you want your baby to 'discover' the religion they want. hence you wait till they are how previous, then tell them you've faith this or that, then you actually tell them to trust what ever? yet provide them the fabric, before they turn to the rebellious teen section, God is actual, and so is Jesus, it fairly is how i recognize previous a doubt that those children who my God says they consistently have an angel status before the throne of God, those children will consistently discover God and Jesus. try it my chum, or are you anxious that i'd be correct? And please do not come again with yet another question about God being so actual why do such quite some children die. He gave you the right to settle on did not He? What, His present is hyprocrytical, and we in basic terms have the right to settle on so long because this is the right determination? No even His prophets and easily baby were slain by employing this depraved international. He doesnt' take His present away because we abuse it, he's compared to adult men, he's God.
