and every day brings new queries which I have to deal with. There are two sets of lawyers involved. It is not complicated, but oh boy am I fed up. Please cheer me up and tell me you felt the same. I feel I am going mad!!!!!!!!

I know, we are currently buying a house (finally move in next Friday) and I get phone calls all day long from the estate agents, solicitors, then my bloke wanting to know whats going on. And you never know whats happening from one minute to the next and all these questions are flying around.
I hear the worst time is when you come to selling AND buying a house at the same time - aarrrggghhh double the grief (and money)

I didn't know it was as bad in Europe. But I know what you feel dear. I also hate all the paperwork regarding rules and regulations. It is too boring to read through it and lots of boring people get involved, pfff.
But then the good news...I finalized it all 2 years ago and I haven't thought of any legal person since ! So relax and think that in the end they have to do what YOU want.

I have never had any troubles with refi's it must be the mortgage company you are dealing with. I had my house refi'ed last year with Ameriquest, I contacted them via internet, they called me , I explained what I wanted to accomplish with the refi, within 30 days they brought the papers to my home one afternoon, I sigend them and the deal was done. I never had to involve a lawyer at all.

If it makes you feel any better, I remortaged 2 years ago and it was a right pain, now my rate has ended again and I need to remortage again, not looking forward to it and forgotten everything from before.
