Boric Acid /Borate is deadly to a multitude of insects (roaches, crickets, & yes ants).
There are two general types of ants. There are the kind that like to eat sweets & then there are the type that don't like sweets. So, if you don't see your ants swarming around sweet foods then you'll know that they're the "non sweet tooth" type of ants.
Mix anything sweet with Boric Acid / Borate(20 Mule Team Borax in the laundry soap section at the grocery store works great) to get rid of the "sweet tooth ants".
If your ants don't like sweets then you'll need to play around with other things to mix into the Boric Acid / Borate. You could experiment with putting out crumbs of various foods & see what your ants prefer. Then use their favorite to mix in with the Boric Acid.

Yes, put down some grits. I was told that when they take the grits to their nest to give to the queen ant, she will eat it and will cause her to expand and blow up. It's just like when you are cooking grits, they swell up. The same if the ants eat the grits. Sounds kind of cruel but they will relocate their nest.

to get rid of ants you can use a special breed of fly. these flys are the ants mortal enemy and is pre-programmed to kill the ants on sight. the fly lays an egg in the ant and the larva will eat the ant alive. ahh, but then i dunno how to get rid of the flys
