Does a person who isn't smart enough to notice that there's a spell check above the box where you post the answers really have the right to call me cheap? Cheap is way better than stupid if you ask me...

Wow. That's not even close to answering your question.

For free, legal mp3s, your best bet is to go http://3hive.com. They only put up mp3s that bands and record labels put up on their own sites. 3hive does focus mostly on independent artists, and they feature great music over there.

No! Why would you not want to support your favorite musicians by buying thier tunes? Free music is stealing unless given out by the artist or record label to promote. You can buy songs fairly cheap online. Dont be a thief. You can buy a song for like 99 cents. I would suggest not to steal as its a crime.

Yes downloading free music "IS" illegal. You are stealing from "ALL" the people that are a part of crwating the music. Let's say you were a caterer for a concert of one of the groups or asrtists you plan on stealing music from. Would you like it if the artist approached you and told you that you weren't getting paid because of some lame @$$ person can't buy the music that you worked so hardf for? no you wouldn't like that at all/ It's no different than you stealing from "yourself" or steling from the company that you work for. It's theft and yes you can go tio jail for it.
