In early versions of Batman, his dad was a physician, which made him rich enough to pass on a large inheritance to Bruce. These days a physician's wealth wouldn't be enough to fund all of the things Batman does, so writers introduced WayneCorp-- later renamed Wayne Enterprises-- to explain how Bruce Wayne got his money. The company was started by Bruce's father. Bruce inherited all the shares of the private company, and grew it further through the management of Lucious Fox, the businessman Bruce trusts to manage Wayne Enterprises.

In some versions of the Batman mythology (like in the Batman Begins movie), Bruce's dad is still a practicing physician, but he had also started Wayne Enterprises. After starting the firm he discontinued playing a major role in running it, instead concentrating on his medical practice.

It wasn't just Bruce's parents who were rich. That family comes from old money. Many generations of Wayne's were rich and that money was passed down. Bruce's parents were not the first Wayne's to live in Wayne Manor.

Bruce's dad did however start Wayne Corp. He had others run the company though because he prefered being able to help people as a doctor.

Apparently, that is a good question! How did Bruce get rich? I would say that his parents, Thomas and Martha, left their inheritances to Bruce when they die. From then on, Bruce became a businessman and a philanthropist, while secretly being the Batman.

Bruce Wayne (Batman) became rich of the massive inheritance left behind by his wealthy parents, who were brutally murdered.

Apparently Thomas Wayne, Bruce's father, was the only doctor in Gotham. I reckon anyone who needed a doc back then had to go see him. It made him very rich. Which bruce inherited from him upon his parents death.

His dad owned Wayne Industries which helped modernize Gotham city and made it better for everyone, and when he was murdered Bruce got it all. Wayne Industries, the money, the mansion, the whole shebang.
