We just installed a new high efficiency dishwasher in our home. Now when I wash my pizza pans, cookie sheets and metal cooking utensils they come out rusty. Anybody have any suggestions/ideas as to what is happening and can I fix this problem? We do have well water but never had this problem with the old dishwasher. Thank You!

Chances are the pans are not getting dry enough quickly enough. Are you using the heat dry option? But, if they are not drying and then sitting there with no air being able to get to them of course they are going to rust. Your option might be to take them out of the dishwasher at the end of the cycle and towel dry them.

Wheelie is probably right. Make sure you use rinse aid, also check the manual, if you are running "regular wash" fill the detergent to the second graduation mark in the soap cup. Fill the cup near the top for "power scrub plus" setting.
Load the pans so they drain the water off. I have a Bosch and loading the dishes took a little getting used to (I had a Maytag before that).

need to empty the dishwasher faster as leaving it with the hot steam after the cycle causes the rust spots; its a reaction with other metals pans etc the newer ones have setting may just want to refrain from using the power cycle or the pots pan scrub there are lower levels.

Dishwasher powder may be the culprit. Check with your supplier and see if they recommend that type of powder. Hows your rinse-aid? check on that too!
