Pagan is a very wide term, and technically applies to anyone not Christian who isn't an atheist. Originally the word meant a "country dweller", and came to mean a non-Christian because those who lived in the country weren't as easily converted to Christianity than those who were in the city [long story there or I'd try to explain that more].
There are so many different Pagan belief systems that defining just one would take more information than would easily fit here, especially since most of the Western Pagan religions are a bit free form in their approach to thing, with a philosophy of doing what feels right for each person, so long as it harms no one else.
