I currently have to do it 47 times, unless it is Tuesday, in which case it is 23, or unless the bathroom is blue, in which case I have to get someone else to get little Ichi out for me.
Does anyone else have funny little quirks and habits around simple rituals like this?

47? Did you know that is a magical number? It has many 'inside secret' meanings for me, that is crazy! Well, I never really counted how many times I wash my hands, as I am constantly cleaning up messes from my daughter spilling things, or rinsing dishes, or...whatever else may occur, so I would suppose that my handwashing is almost a constant, like breathing.
I do have some quirks though, aside from what everyone here has seen; For instance I always need to drink my soda out of a can, and my beer out of a bottle. It ties in with the length of time that I am drinking either one, and also because of taste, and spillage rates. I'm the one with the hole in my bottom lip, don't serve me anything in a glass, or that's just one more time I'll have to wash my hands!

I wash afterwards. If anyone has a cold or flu I wash my hands until they are red. In the winter I have a time with my hands because I wash them so much. I am one of those people when I get out in public I won't touch door handles or buggy's....I hate germs

I can't leave the seat in the car leaning forward (as if I just got something out of the back seat.) It makes the car more desirable to theft. I don't know why I think/do that....

I think you've got a serious case of perv or OCD...I think the latter is treatable.
