Yes. During your lutal phase (from the day you ovulate to the start of your period) is between 12 and 16 days. During days 12 - 16 is when most home pregnancy's tests can now detect a surge. however, the accuracy of the reading get's more accurate as it approches the 16th day. Blood tests done on day 12 or later are the most accurate for "early" detection. It is also more expensive and it takes one to two days to get your results back. Note: if you are gonna try the first repsonse f-days sooner. Your urine needs to be concentrated...which means first urine of the day. OR...stop drinking fluids after lunch and wait until evening to test.

good luck.

Todays home pregnancy kits are just as good as a blood test. Remember it takes more time to get the results back from pathology for a blood test.

A blood test will tell you if there is any HcG in your blood and yes, they are WAY more sensitive than a urine test. However, I have gotten positives on a urine test up to 5 days before my period was due. Try a First Response test -- they seem to be the most sensitive.

i took a pregnancy test but i was already 6 weeks pregnant but i went to the doctor just to make sure and i had a blood test done to confirm it but a blood test can say yes or no i believe in like two weeks of becoming pregnant.

Blood tests for pregnancy are much more reliable than urine tests. The hcg in your urine that the pregnancy test is looking for is accumulated in the urine from your blood, and it can vary considerably according to your liquid intake. A doctor will normally not conduct a blood test until you have a positive urine test.

Blood tests are far more conclusive and definitive. Home tests are good but not always reliable. Good luck and keep on tryin!
