Well I have 2 ideas for you;
1. There is a beautiful book, called: "The Journey is the Destination: The Journals of Dan Eldon". It is a collection of this designer/journalist 13 scrapbooks that his mother combined together after his death. It is my inspiration book & it helped me allot!!!

2. A combination of a scrap book with a photo album.
I love pictures and I have tons in boxes (pre-digital camera time...). What I did is I went to some friends and took a look in their wedding albums, got some ideas about how to cut and combine pictures. Created my photo album with memories (like tickets) and decorations like present rapping, conffeti (not sure how to spell it...) etc. It can come out real nice :)
Good luck and enjoy!!!

Hi, I know very little about scrap booking - never tried it - but seen it. It is about presenting photos in an artistic manner in a photo album. The ones I've seen have been very pretty or ugly depending on your taste. Try to imagine what I am about to try and explain. You choose a photo or preferably a series of connected photos to tell a story, eg holiday, family or pets etc.
Then you enchance the page you place the photo/s on with something to help tell the story when viewing the photos. You may use a coloured backing board and add a frame around the photo stickers or lace or whatever your imagination can up with to place on the page with the photo. For instance on a tropical holiday you could use a coloured background to tone in with the colour of the background colour in the photo. If a beach scene the stickers could be sea shells, boats, tropical fish or mermaids whatever you feel enhances the photos and makes the overall viewing pleasure of the page better.
In Brisbane Australia where I am you can go to craft stores and get scrapebooking kits and some places have classes. You can also buy special scissors that cut different patterns and lots of seperate "bits" as well. Your scrapebooking is only limited by your imagination. Just think what you can do with those photos you have stored hidden away.

I would be happy to talk with you about scrapbooking. If you e-mail me I will send you some scrapbooking ideas as well as places where you can get stuff to work on your projects. To start out you really don't need a whole lot more than a few colored pens, some papers and your favorite pictures, and from there this hobby only grow. I personally like to use a lot of products from a company called Stampin' Up! I would love to talk to you about what they have and help you get started with this hobby. Good Luck and e-mail me if you have any questions or would like to talk about this. Thanks

you could go to a local Joann Fabrics Etc. or a Michaels, they often have beginner classes for lots of different crafts, including scrapbooking. It is alot of fun. I would suggest looking into that, before going out and trying to start one, then deciding it's not for you. trust me, hobbies can be expensive, make sure you really like something before you jump into it with both feet.

I hope you find something fun that you enjoy.

I would recommend avoiding scrapbooking--it's a lot of work for little reward. Why not take up a real craft, such as painting, woodworking, or jewelrymaking?

Any art supply store, such as Michael's, should have what you're looking for to get started in your new hobby.

I don't know too much about that either, but there probably are plenty of websites that talk all about it. I myself love to collect ( my signature has my website in it), on my website I'm the member proudcollector. So of course I would suggest collecting, which you may already do.
