i'm in my early twenties and i dont know what to do with my life. i started going to college two years ago, and i have enjoyed it. but the problem is there is no goal for me with college, you know i dont know what to do with it. i've changed my major multiple times, and i am now a romance language/theatre major. i feel pretty satisfied with my current choice but i dont know what kind of career i will have with this B.A. degree. what i've really been thinking about is massage therapy. i already have a cosmetology "degree" that i got my first year out of high school. but working with those chemicals was really doing a number on me. i really like the idea of being a massage therapist, but i would have to quit school. currently, i'm on academic probation for missing so much to take care of my grandpa who is dying. should i quit college to persue a career in massage therapy? i'm so lost.

It's no wonder you're upset and worried about everything because taking care of a dying loved one is emotionally draining on anyone. I know because I stayed with my dying mother for weeks last year in Portsbridge Hospice in Dunwoody, Georgia until she died. She died a slow, angonizing death after a massive stroke, and it was horrible. It took me months just to feel a little bit normal again, and only now am I slowly beginning to feel like my old self again. Here's the deal: You can always go back to college, even get most of it done online in some cases. For now, I advise taking time off to be with your grandpa and take some pressure off of yourself. You need time for healing before you can really think about what you want to do. I will think about you and pray for you often, and I wish you all the best.

What would make you happy? Do you think massage therapy is what you would want to do for the rest of your life? There are some many choices out there. Look into your options see what pays well, and you can do for the rest of your life. Right now the medical Field is what is booming. There is always more you can learn and you can always move up in a company. Explore some choices in that. The only reason why I am suggesting something other then MT is I know a few people who got there MT degree, and almost all of them are either currently going to school or already did. There reason was they didn't see this as a career. So before you switch majors or move on to something else really look at what is available to you

If you were my kid I would tell you YES.Massage Therapy is a good profession.. Plus its in your field along with your hair degree... Its not going 2 help you to run up debt being in college with no goals in mind. You can always go back later when life has taught you what u really want. Sometimes it takes a while... I think if you are in college for something medical then stay. You will be able to get a job after college and a future because we all get sick. Lots of business for you there.. But your major now??? I can't think of a job for you after 4 years of college.. I can't tell you how many of my old college buddies with their 4 year degrees and debt even got a job in their major.. They ended up in dept stores.. You have to pick the right major or its all a waste... I think massage therapy is like a trade. Such as cosmetology, plumber, electrician, auto mechanics, nurse... You will always be employed and you will always be able to go out anywhere you live in the US and get a job and have income.. I think its a good profession... My daughter will go to Aveda Cosmetology school next year.. I am sure with your degree in that field you could still work cutting hair only (away from chemicals) and still get income. Hope your grandpa is OK.. that is very nice of you to care for him and I am sure he appreciates you

Think about what you really want to do, what makes you happy, and what are you comfortable doing. I would research what your salary would be (you can look at it on salary.com), and is there a need for it? While you are taking care of your Grandpa (which I am so sorry for you at this time), do some soul searching. Since you are taking care of your Grandfather, maybe something in Hospice or the Nursing industry might be something you can research? There is a need for massage therapist, and maybe from there since it interest you look into physical therapy as well.

Good Luck to you, I was in the same boat 20 years ago and didn't pursue my dreams!

Lady,
They usually tell us to be optimistic with life. Imagine you are in a career that just doesnt make you any happy. At the end of the day you have lines on your face you feel unimpressed and you feel distanced from people. Then now Imagine doing that for the next 40 or so years since you are noe 20... look here.

Dont be in colle just coz. Be there to do what you shall enjoy when you finnish studying. I like your career but concentrate on one thing. Dont keep hopping, you will curse yourself when you are aging.
All the best.

You might become the best massage therapist around! You are caring for your grandpa, which is so good of you. Picture you in your own massage parlor with some employee/interns learning from you. You and your staff do in shop massages and also in home massages for the elderly who are homebound. Maybe you even go to some nursing homes.

Gee. Your appointment book will be full!
Good luck whatever you decide.

I know exactly how you feel I have been there and my honest advice to take some time to travel. Traveling will open you mind to the world, new things and people.

What I did was backpack Europe for 5 months. Just waking up each day and traveling to new and different cities alone. That changed my life and made me feel so much more complete not to mention I met my wife.

Defiantly do it, get out and see the world.

like each and every muscle and bone on your physique is massaged. you be attentive to the sensation whilst somebody places "tension" on your back or neck (like, a rub down)? It kinda feels that way. you're additionally numb everywhere. You spasm. you do no longer even sense discomfort. there's a heat fuzzy feeling that sways around your physique. now and back even your hair stands up and have goosebumps. you additionally can think of of it as a huge, ecstatic stretch or a sneeze. Your face muscle tissues settlement, feet curl and your back arches. it relatively is by using fact each and every muscle on your physique is stretched. yet another assessment is scratching an itch. different than, with this "itch", the extra you "scratch", the extra gratifying it feels, till that "itchy" feeling climaxes. The emotional feeling of an orgasm is even better. you sense so euphoric and "extreme". there is not any sorrow in that little 2nd, no count number how terrible your existence is. you could smile, snort or perhaps cry (for me in my view, the very extreme orgasm make me tear up). you be attentive to the sensation once you come across somebody so stunning the place you pass "awww!!!" and choose to pinch them? You get the variety of impulse during an orgasm.
