Use the following equation:

The number you are given / X = the percent given.

Example:

30 / x = .04

X= 750 so 30 is 4% of 750.

It's always best to know HOW to do something than to just get the answers! Good luck!

Dummies way,(my way,) to do it:
30 is 4% of ?

another way of saying 30 is 4/100ths of?
So, invert the 4/100ths,(100/4)
& multiply by 30 100/4 x 30/1 = 3000/4
3000 divided by 4 is 750

=750
30 is 4% of 750
......................................................................................................

350 is 25% of ?
25% is a quarter (1/4), so, 350 is a quarter of what?
Multiply 350 x 4 = 1400

350 is 25% of 1400
..........................................................................................................

24 is 8% of ?

24 is 8/100ths of ?

so, invert 8/100ths,(100/8)
& multiply by 24 100/8 x 24/1 = 2400/8
2400 divided by 8 is 300
24 is 8% of 300
..........................................................................................................

110 is 10% of?

That one is REALLY easy! 10% is a tenth (1/10),
so 110 is 1/10 of ?
just multiply 110 x 10. 110 x 10 = 1100
110 is 10% of 1100
......................................................................................................

243 is 90% of ?

243 is 90/100ths of ?
so invert 90/100ths (100/90)
& multiply by 243 100/90 x 243/1 = 24300/90
24300 divided by 90 = 270

243 is 90% of 270
...........................................................................................................
So, to find out what a figure is a percentage of, reverse the percentage over 100 & multiply by the figure.

PRACTISE IT!! ( & don't cheat with a calculator, one day you might not have one.)
