Ping uses the ICMP protocol to send a bit of data to another computer to see if it receives it or not.

TCP/IP is transmission control protocol/internet protocol. It's the protocol that runs the internet and enables computers to talk to each other.

TCP / IP is a protocol for communication in pc network.
Ping helps you to know how good is connection between you and the other pc in net., it sends several packets and how many it recieves back, that good is the connection.
I think you´ re pc games player, 0 is ideal ping, more and more - getting worse.

ping is a computer network tool used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an IP network.

Packet Internet Grouper (Groper) is the full fom of Ping

U can also call it as a command used in d command promt of XP the generic form is "PING 127.0.0.0"

go to start-> all Programs->Accessories->Command Promt"

Type cd\ and enter then type
"PING 127.0.0.0"
