right have you ever heard of to get better things can only get worse i suffer with them myself but i don't now i had them for years then they seemed to go away bang they was the worded every i controlled them now i don't suffer anymore the way to beat panic attacks is DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THEM sounds silly but true try going out 1 step at a time take a bottle of water out with you to help that dry throat while you are having a panic attack wear cool clothes go out when you no town is have shut and not everyone goes down for me that's a Tuesday have day closing get a dog take him or her for small walks at 1st i did all this still am i am not going to lie to you i don't go out much myself but I'm learning and getting better it takes time if you fancy a chat i am here you can click on my pic sent me a email or leave a message on my 360 page or instant message me good luck

If you don't want to get into the serious prescription medication you can try St. John's Wort. It is an herb that is available in two forms, the regular form that you take 1-2 tablets 3x a day or an extended release form that you take once a day. It has helped me with mild anxiety.
If you do want to try some prescription meds, there are various kinds that do the trick. Paxil is one (but it causes many people sexual side effects like lack of interest or inability to reach climax). Zoloft is another (this one seems to have less side effects) Prozac helps some people with panic disorders but can be very hard on the stomach (you should take it with antacids). There are a few more but these are the ones I have experience with. You have to talk to your doctor OR you can order them on-line but I would HIGHLY recommend you talk to a doctor initially and order them on-line AFTER your consultation.
*Prozac was my fav, but it caused stomach problems and aggravated my ulcer, so if you don't have an ulcer it may not be a problem for you.
For immediate relief try the regular St. John's Wort, 2-3 tablets 3 times a day.

My husband used to suffer from panic attacks, so much so that he called the emergency services out on more than one occasion as he thought he was having a heart attack. I even got called home from work, (which I didn't mind) only to find by that time that he was practically recovered. He found an answer to combat these attacks, and has only had one in the past three years. He will be more than happy to talk with you if you would like more information. If you notice these attacks over a year, than you need to remember the root, or the very 1st one you had. Exactly what happened to cause your 1st one. There might be something there you can deal with. Most people I know don't deal with the attack, they deal with the cause of the attack.
For example, stress, pressure, time issues, the list goes on. I even had a girlfriend who would literally freeze up if a good looking guy went by because she was afraid her walk was awkward. We'll it wasn't. However, a old idiot boyfriend used to dog her out so much (including her walk) that stress stayed with her for like 6 months. When she got over the idiot, she got over the attacks. Your condition has now got to the debilitating stage in that it is stopping you from going out, there is some good advice here on breathing techniques, writing thoughts down etc. But it is now at the stage where you should seek medical help, go see your doctor there are quite a number of good medicines out there for this condition and believe me it is worth taking them, I'm off them now so it doesn't have to be for the rest of your life. Panic attacks can develop into other conditions such as depression or it may even be depression you have. I know your find it hard to go out but please for your own sake make at least one trip to the doctors, it may help to write down how you are going to get there and what you might expect to see on the way such as people walking the dog, etc that way you are prepared for what is out there and it should be easier to cope with. sit down with a piece of paper and a pen and write down the first thing that comes into your head.
It must be something you are thinking about to trigger the attack. Also, once it's written down, make yourself a cuppa leave it 10 minutes and go back to it.
it works for me everytime and in the end its something minor. Problem dealt with. Do it as many times per day as u like, even at work it will become easier

Same here. Believe it or not but the pothead guy has the right answer. lol it really does work. Thinking you were taught to say no? You're right it is illegal (shouldn't be but I'll save that for another topic) so I will also suggest you talk to your dr and see about getting on xanax, paxil, or adavan (not sure on spelling on that on) xanax (pronounced zan ax) is addictive as is paxil. xanax you can take as needed and paxil takes a week or so to work. adavan is a lot like xanax w/o such a strong addiction.

Deep breathing.... as soon as you feel a panic attack happening, sit down, close your eyes.... deep breathe in through the nose (count to 6) out through the mouth (count to 6). Try it, it helps you to relax.

See a dr. and get on the right meds. It's obviously something you can't control mentally, so the right med should put them at ease enough to function.
