I think sometimes it's just so hard to believe that someone actually cares for you. But if you hang in there a deal with it. The person will eventually be able to trust in your feelings for them. Some people who've been hurt in the past just take longer to trust.

This person has some serious problems. he or she needs to go for some counciling..
Have you asked in what ways they think that you are trying to hurt them.. It does help to talk.. the only way your are going to find out what is really going on with them. and know what they are talking about when they say you are trying to hurt them. Maybe they have been abuse.. you don't say enough to really give us out here and idea of what you mean. As for loving someone like that.. be careful. they are liable to lash out and hurt you..
Why do you love the person.. taking care of someone with that problem is hard..
your not the parent , let someone else do the mothering or the fathering..
think about what it is that you like about them you may want to move on because of this situation.

Maybe because they've been hurt in the past. Or maybe you've hurt them in the past and they're finding it hard to get over it.
Talk to them, be kind and supportive.

this must be a bad sign of not being in love but in charge of each others. It is a burden if i was in your place. There is great misunderstanding or you have a different type of thinking.

Might be paranoia. That person might want to contact the local community mental health center, and also talk about the problem to their doctor.

Then they're insecure and will never be convinced of your innocence. Move on while you can.
Been there, done that, and it wasn't fun at all.
