I am a 56 year old grandmother and can change a tire!

If you can drive, you should be able to change a tire. Why would you want to be stuck on the side of a rode, depending on some pervert stopping to change a tire?

It's a very good idea to learn how just in case you have to. also.
check your spare once in a while to make sure it has enough
air and carry a couple cans of fix-a-flat so in case your tire is
just low, you can at least air it up enough to get to someplace
that will change it.

Dad taught me just before I got my license... But honestly, I cannot remember a thing that he showed me... what is the name of the thing that you are supposed to rise the car with? I dunno... I completely forgot - and I have no idea how cars work, so hopefully when I do get a flat someday or the car just dies, it will be next to a road where a bloke can come to my rescue !

I can't either, I only just found out what a dipstick was a few days ago, I have no interest in cars at all, but I guess if you drive alone you should know the basics

I know how to...but there's always been a man around that had to show his manliness so I never got the chance. Usually the lug nuts are too tight for me anyway.

I can. I had a very strict mother growing up. She made sure that I would never be stranded on the side of the road (you could be killed! or worse! Raped!). She made me take classes on simple repairs before I could begin to learn how to drive. It was one of the smartest decisions she ever made. :D
