Stop "lending" your neighbor everything she asks for. You're not the corner market, these things cost money and it sounds like she's too cheap to buy stuff for herself. The next time she comes over, ask her if she could bring back something she's borrowed, then if she says "I haven't got it," go to wherever you keep what she wants and tell her you're all out of it. Stop allowing your neighbor to walk all over you by giving her everything she wants, just remain friendly while you do it. If her nose gets out of joint, oh well.

Yes without a doubt put your foot down if you let this carry on the next thing she'll be wanting to borrow is your husband.

She is obviously not merely borrowing essential items like food, but nail varnish too, so clearly sees you as a soft touch.

I think you will have to put your foot down and refuse any further requests, no matter what sob story she spins you.

OMG she is soooooo taking the p*ss. put a stop to it at once. next time she asks for something just say you haven't got any.

people like that make my blood boil. hope she asks for toilet roll next then you can give her 3 squares !!!

Put your foot down and tell her to go to the shop and buy things like everyone else has to.

Your neighbour is taking advantage of your generosity and you should just smile and say, sorry, but I can't lend you anything right now. No need to give a reason.

Whatever items she asks to borrow, tell her you're out and was hoping she could lend some to you.

Yep, put your foot down. She's a moocher. Just say, I'm sorry, I have been running out of things so often, and I really don't have time to go to the store to replenish.

You should definitely put your foot down and if she asks for anything just tell her you've run out or you don't have any - the sooner you do it the sooner she's going to catch your drift.
