budget £60-110 . . . anyone recommend a good one?

The Sony NW-E003F that Vicky recommended looks good but i have found this review: "The main problem (as with all Sonys) is that the player will only play OMG files. These need to be transferred using Sonicstage - if you just drag and drop a wma/mp3 onto the player it will not be recognised for playback. (wma/mp3's are wrapped in the Sony DRM on transfer, so they are not re-encoded but you can't play those files anywhere else). You have to import your playlist(s) into Sonicstage to get any music into it. If you update your playlist on your media player, you then have to re-import it. Fiddly and annoying. Sort yourselves out Sony." this means nothing to me . . . any comments guys? :)

I got an mp3 player for my birthday and it's great! I love it!! I'd recommend you get the Sony NW-E003F. I didn't have a clue what to do with it but it's so easy to use. I think it cost around £80. It comes with software called "Sony Sonic Stage" which lets you transfer cds to it, and also music that you have downloaded. It's honestly so easy to use. To charge it, you just stick it straight into your pc (It has a built-in USB plug with a cover at the end of it). When you open the software, it will show you on a window on the left hand side all the songs you have on your pc (either downloaded or ripped from CDs) and on the right hand side it will show you what's on your mp3 player (will be blank). All you do then is select which songs you wish to transfer onto the mp3 player, click on the arrow button and it'll move them across to it and that's it!! It's a 1gb mp3 player and i have around 300 songs on it from CDs and downloads and there's still lots of room left. It's the best thing i've ever had!

I was just thinking about that mobile phone advert from a while ago... they're all going "you wanna get one JUST LIKE MINE!" Anyway, get...

Samsung YP-Z5A

You can get one for around £110 (try the other sellers listed on Amazon). I don't actually have one, I just want one, they look beautiful, almost ipod-beating, functionality is supposed to be good, and 4gb will hold quite a lot of songs.

Ipod Nanos are more expensive and they break. However in some ways ipods are just the best I reckon, next time I have some money I am gonna get rid of my crappy mp3 player and get the Samsung or an Ipod.

No offense to destiny but 512mb isn't enough for that many songs, if you spend around £100 you can get a player that will last you for a holiday not just a daily commute.

One other thing... use www.pricerunner.co.uk to find the best price

You ought to be able to get a Sansa c200 or e200 series player for that. Not sure what they go for in the UK but in the US that's about the right range.
The Creative flash-based players are also in that range, my wife has one of the older zen nano players, and it works great for her.

Creative Zen has some decent ones. I got one for my Mom its easy to use she loves it. They are reasonably priced....different g sizes cost different, but you can usually get a good sized one for around $79.00 ..not sure what that translates to in pounds sorry ....but they are affordable and they got some good reviews.
Dont worry youll find a good one.
