I have been using microsoft smart phones for 2 or 3 years now and I watch movies and TV programes (downloads) on my smartphone (Motorola mpx200, spv c550) all the time. Yes it is a small screen, but when you are stuck somewhere or in bed and cant sleep and dont want to wake everyone up they are ideal. Add to that the mp3 player (windows media) these phones are amazing, so if I had an i-pod then I would use it to watch films. Not new technology though

I am not sure really. If I had time to kill and had no ther device than the ipod with a film on then why not.
But I primarily use it for the music as videos take up so much battery life and that sucks.
I saw yesterday that at their News Conference in the US they have been targeting this issue and will be extending the battery life by 65%! Not bad really.

I'm not sure...I have the video Ipod and I uploaded some movies on it , but I hardly ever watch them... I think it's useful for ''short'' videos, or maybe if you're on a plane and want to watch your fav movie... and actually it's not too small, just like watching tv from a little bit far behind...

Probably not. Maybe certain kinds of movies (dramas, character driven pieces) but too many films have to be seen on a big screen

No. It would be worse than watching them on TV. Portable DVD players are not much better. Films should be viewed on as large a screen as possible in the dark.

I use a PSP to watch movies and videos. If the ipods ever get larger screens I'd consider them.

No way because ipod's are crummy and the screen is too small anyway, and yes size does matter!
