Since I am a geek, it has to be 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was intended to be the "proverbial good science fiction movie" and the intent was achieved. It got me hooked on science and technology. I am still somewhat pissed that as yet I and unable to buy a ticket for a trip to the Moon. I mean it's already 2006 and still no lunar shuttle service?!?!?
2010 was a let down since they did stupid things like put sounds in the "space" scenes. There's no sound in space, but hey it was Hollywood-ized I guess.
