Miscarriage is pregnancy loss before 20 weeks. My daughter is expecting our first grandchild in April. She recently experienced some very frightening vaginal bleeding. It has stopped now. She has had a vaginal ultrasound and she and her husband were relieved to hear the baby's heartbeat. While it is no more comforting or less painful to think, but her doctor said a large number of miscarriages are due to an abnormality in the developing baby. I think miscarriage is the one greatest fear of pregnant women. It is always possible to have a miscarriage and if it is going to happen, there is nothing you can do to stop it. It was often thought that a pregnant woman was in a "delicate condition", but it is perfectly fine to continue normal activity until you find it uncomfortable to do so. My daughter's doctor assured her that the baby is well protected and it is not possible to "cause" a miscarriage short of a traumatic injury.

You can really have a miscarriage anytime. After 4 months it's called stillbirth. It is a worry for pregnant women but if I were you, I wouldn't worry. As long as everything looks OK, you and your baby should be fine.

Your at risk for miscarriage the greatest the first three months, bleeding can be normal, cramping is normal the first few months, it is simply your uterus adjusting and growing, I had a miscarriage, at 3.5 months, my second pregnancy. Just relax,

Hello,.. before I had my first son (now 4.5 yrs old!) I had a miscarriage on 6 weeks... perhaps you should speak to your gyne as you might need a D&C??? Its not painful and the good news is that thereafter you are extra fertile.. we conceived Chris the first month thereafter! GOOD LUCK!!!

With my second son, (now 26months) I was bleeding a little on 11 weeks... but it turned out NOT TO BE a miscarriage... he is a big and healthy boy now!!!!!!!!!

It's always possible up until the end of your first trimester (ie first 3 months). It can also happen after that but it's less likely. Just take it easy for a while.

Unfortunately, it is possible to still have a miscarriage. If you are having any concerns, it's very important to consult with your physician. Good Luck!

I believe the first three months is when you stand the most chance of having one. Though it can happen at any time, it's more common during the first trimester.

I know its not what you want to hear.... but a high rish exsists untill the first trimester is complete. Then from there it declines. Just eat healthy, get plenty of rest, and don't over do it. You should be fine, so should your baby.
