Essentially 2 cores packed in one single die.
they perform independently & carry out two tasks at same time
in case only one task is assigned, second core remains idle

Unlikely your laptop has dual processors. More likely if it's new that it has a duo processor, which is effectively two cpus in one. Right click on an empty area of your taskbar down the bottom and select "Task Manager" Select the performance tab and it will show up there how many cpus the operating system 'thinks' there are, either because it has hyperthreading or becase it has a duo processor. If there is only one cpu graph up the top then it has a uniprocessor.

nicely to appreciate how that works, you should understand slightly approximately how processors paintings. each and everything in pc processing is switched over to whats stated as binary code. maximum persons understand that binary code interprets each and everything to 1s and 0s, yet maximum persons have no thought why. that is hassle-free quite, each and everything on your pc processed by ability of pulses of electrical energy, and it is the place binary is accessible in. a million ability deliver a pulse of electrical energy, 0 ability do not deliver a pulse of electrical energy. Now we get to what GHz ability. GHz is short for GigaHertz. A single Hertz (and particular that's appropriate grammar) is one sign, the two a a million or 0. that's transmitting the binary from the code into the pulses of electrical energy. So a million GHz is a million billion indicators. greater GHz ability a quicker processor, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does not unavoidably recommend a greater valuable processor. issues like the kind of transistors, the dimensions of the L1, L2, L3, and each now and returned L4 caches, the speeds of the countless caches, the CPU socket, etc can exchange that is overall performance. For you, considering that your remoted to truly i3 processors, the terrific one obtainable is the Intel i3-3240

I think it's called Dual Processor, not Duel Processor!

There's more information about Dual Processors here, though I never really read through it yet... only skimmed through it. They highly recommend dual processors. You're lucky!

Yes, but never heard of that before, dual processor not "Dual Core(TM)"?

But either way means technically 2 processors in running.
