Hi there,
It is very normal to have abdominal pains when you have periods. You can try using a hot water bottle. Wrap it in a sheet or a towel and place it on your abdomen. It should feel warm and not hot though. So be careful. Or if heat does not help you you can dip a cloth such as a long handkerchief or something like that in cold water and place it on your abdomen.
I hope this helps.

You can try over-the-counter medicines, but you should check with your doctor first, especially if you're on any kind of medication.
Keeping active does help a lot, as does heat from a heating pad, hot water bottle, or even just a warm damp towel. Try doing sit-ups or other abdominal exercises. It will not only help to relieve cramps temporarily, but if you keep doing them regularly, will help reduce the pain of menstrual cramps in the future.
Of course, if they're so painful you can't get out of bed, you should consult a doctor or healthcare professional ASAP. It might be a sign of a serious underlying problem or they may be able to prescribe medication to alleviate the pain.
Best of luck and feel better soon!

Lie down comfortably. Take slow and shallow breaths. Breathe in slowly and when exhaling, feel as if the pain is slowly fading away. Sometimes you can fall asleep while doing this. I've heard that putting a hot water bottle against your tummy helps also. Stay away from hot peppers or anything hot and spicy! You will suffer more if you don't. I'm talking from experience. You can also lie on your back, put some baby oil or another type of massage oil (Oil is oil, use coconut oil or whatever) on your tummy and rub in a circular motion. Apply very little pressure so that it doesn't hurt. You can do this massage yourself but I think it's more fun when someone else does it. You can relax more if someone else is doing it.

It is quite normal to get pain, this is because your womb contracts to shed the lining (the blood) ready for the next cycle. You should be able to reduce the pain with over the counter medicines from your pharmacist, gentle exercise is also recommended. When you're resting then you might find a heat-pad or hot water bottle helpful.
However, I would get checked out by your Doctor as pain can sometimes be a symptom of other conditions.

It is very normal to have pain during periods. It is coz of the uterine contraction
trying to throw out the shed endometrium. It can be releived by antispasmodics like Meftal-Spas.
If u still have severe pain so much as to incapacitate u then u shud get urself checked up coz it may be due to underlying pathology like pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis( do try to note the time of onset of pain, their's usually starts a few days before the onset of menses)
In such a case do contact ur gynaecologist but do not use it as an escape from work or ur responsibilities!!

Try doing a bit of yoga.Like the butterfly aasan,it helps a lot. Also, try being active so it deviates your attention from the pain.( I know it's tough!!) There are certain medicines, however you can become addictive and you get used to them, which is bad. The best bet is yoga...you can even dance around a bit or try rolling on your bed from one side to another vigourously.
