When I play a DVD on windows media player, the picture's fine but the sound is hazy and broken- any ideas?

My note book did that and HP sent me a new DVD burner player and it fixed it. And talk about easy to install one small bolt pull out push the new one in and replace the bolt 30 seconds. Should of been a computer repair man Not mechanic
