I agree with the person suggesting Nora Roberts Key Series... they are magic! You don't want to put it down.

Another from a series is Janet Evanovich, she has a series of 12 novels out now. Funny and some crime in it, sassy.

The Summerhouse by Jude Deveraux... very funny at times, touching, romantic I couldn't put it down.

Another nice series from Nora Roberts is 1. Jewels Of The Sun, 2. Tears Of The Moon and 3. Heart Of The Sea.

Good Luck. Enjoy

OK, if you haven't read Harry Potter then you should, if only so you can tell what the rest of the world is wittering on about. This is one series you have to start at the beginning. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy them, my mum thinks they're great.

If you haven't read it, try Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It's the most accessible of all the classic novels with a lovely romance at the heart and all sorts of comic characters involved.

Try:

Douglas Coupland - Eleanor Rigby or All families are Psychotic

Coupland is funny, up to date and has the knack of writing real characters, i find all his books excellent though not all will satisfy the general reader.

Neil Gaimen - Anansi Boys

Gaimen writes a funny book about what we call the Brer Rabbit stories coming to like in modern times, reminded me a lot of Douglas Adams.

If you like steamy stuff try..

Delta of Venus by Anais Ninn, she wrote this in the 1930s but it still stands up as a great in its genre. NOT for non-adult readers as contains a lot fairly graphic adult behaviour ;)

Read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (the first is "One for the money", they go in order up to 12 from there). They are suspenseful, entertaining, and absolutely the most hilarious thing I've read in a long time! You'll love them!

King Fortis the Brave - a pair of twins are pulled into a magical world where they are caught up in a battle for control of the land. Full of adventure and humor, it's one of the best books I've ever read.

I am addicted to Nora Roberts. You really have to go to the library and get her Key Series..3 books that are very romantic and mystical..and by the end of that third book..you get such a great reward for spending time with them that you will want to cry!

I love Jasper FFordes. Read the Eyre Affair. It is about a person that can communicate with the characters in Jane Eyre.
