ebay bidders are looking to get it for the lowest price they can. I am sorry to tell you that while you may have some very old coins, you may not have any valuable coins. The value is determined by the condition, their availability, certain mint markings etc.

I would suggest you get a current book on coins and try to determine if you have anything of value. If you do, get an appraiser to give you an estimated value and then sell them to coin collectors.

Good luck.

You need to go to a library to look the coins up. You can try a coin dealer, but remember most coin dealers know only about certain coins. One doing business in U.S. coins, usually has no idea about what world coins actually sell for, he will guess or not make an offer. Also age has nothing to do with value. A coin from China from 200 BC can be bought for a dollar. As stated by others, you need to know what you have, and it's approximate value before you can accept an offer.

That's such a subjective subject. There are so many coins which are near worthless, and only a few which have 'real money' value. You could go to a coin or antiques trading fair, or you could try e-bay. The problem is if you have no idea of their worth, you could get ripped off. Try your local library, that could be a help.

I would get it appraised at a local coin shop and then try eBay, some people are into collecting and some are looking for bargains. you can set minimum bid and see what happens.

I think you should consider selling it. old coins have real antic value. You could get some serious cash for it. You probably should try and contact coin collectors or antic shops. But my advice is don't sell it to the first customer.

Used coins can't be worth much. 100 years old and probably won't work in vending machines and they are probably dirty and dinged and nobody would want them. Many banks will give you new ones for those old ones at a 1 for 1 exchange rate.

Find a coin dealer in your local area, they may buy them or they may have a book that shows the current value.
