There is a chance you could miscarry, especially if this is your first outbreak and you were just diagnosed. Herpes is a virus. You should consult your gynecologist or obstetrician about the spotting. It is likely you will have to deliver by cesarean to avoid infecting your baby, but in some cases, when no outbreak is present, you may be able to deliver vaginally.

First off congrats on the pregnancy. Second, you can't give your baby herpes, unless you have a vaginal birth, then the baby with get herpes of the brain. Which your doctor should tell you. And the spotting, could just be that, spotting. many women will spot during their pregnancy espcially if it is around the time that they would normally be having their period. And if you are still worried call your doctor. If you don't have a doctor call an office and just ask to speak to a nurse and ask her, it wont cost you a thing, but will reasure you. Good luck

you will have to have a cesarean. The baby can catch your herpes if you have a vaginal birth. Im sure when you go for your checkup and they do an internal they will notice anyway, or a pap smear for that matter. You need a recent pap smear to have a baby. You should definately go to the doctor and tell them what is going on down there! as for the spotting, i dont really know. Are you sure that your pregnant???
