Itunes is reporting that my ipod is in recovery mode. I have restored it before so I am worried that it is broken. Help!

have a look at apple.com forums.. i believe its a self diagnostic thing......... have you tried master reset in the menu... might work... you just need to download the latest update from apple... and flash upgrade it with the mains adaptor afterwards.. g'luck

You need to get the latest ipod updater from the apple page.
This will reset your ipod and fix and faults in the harddrive. When you next connect to itunes it should update all your songs again.
If this doesn't work, your ipod is screwed
