Music to suit my mood

Very much so. When i'm upset or depressed i can't listen to uplifting, happy music, just slow, ballads that bring out my mood. I like to create a carthartic experience whereby i listen to that music to draw out the hurt and pain and tears and cleanse myself of all the pain.

I definitly listen to music that defines the place im in. If Im angry, its Tori Amos or Fiona Apple time. If I'm happy.. Kelly Clarkson, Michelle Branch, etc.. If I need to get waking up, some lovely dance cd is the ticket.

When I'm at home, I listen to what suits my mood. At work, I listen to music to pump me up and keep me working all night (night shift sucks!).

To define it.

Nothing worse than a sad song to keep you down when you are already low - when I am bored or in a deep considering mood i usually put on my old favorites, packed full of great tunes to get me bouncing again.

I find that the music I'm listening to helps define my mood.
So if I'm driving in rush hour traffic I try to play something mellow so I'm not flipping off all the other drivers for pissing me off.
