Is there any special reason for choosing the nickname that you use?

I went to artschool, and I met my former boyfriend there. He gave me this name... , He had a teacher with an irritating voice, who always said to watch your 'ooglijn' when you draw something geometrical... (It's dutch, but when translated to English it becomes Eyeline) and that's almost like my real name Evelien (shorten the y and move the last e)

hoangvie: i am from Vietnam, and my full name is Hoang Anh and "Anh" means "you" (to a male, older) in Vietnamese, so lots of people call me "Hoang". "VIE" stands for "VIEtnam".
My little sister called "Bong" because she was chubby. "Bong" was the nickname of Vietnamse version of Cinderella. In our Version, Bong was the chubby fish raised by Cinderella in the well.

Kaorin is a character I rather enjoy from an Anime called Azumanga Daioh. The star is just cool.

publically_private??? well... i wanted something witty and anonymous... and i couldn't think of anything better... but if you talking about nicknames in general that i have quite a few.... my dad's brother, uncle calls me "nan-nha" (that would be hindi), which means small/young... then, in school, i used to be called "pankha" (again hindi), which means fan... one of friends named me that on some stupid whim of hers... just!!! and last is "Shrinks", my real name is Shrinkhala... so the short is Shrinks... they also call me Shrinky, Shrinkydoo... sometimes, even Chweety or Tweety... don't even ask why.... :)

My favorite nickname was given to me by my "first love" in junior high. It was the first 2 letters of my first name and first 3 letters of my last name ... Kaleo. He was the only person that called me that it I loved it.
