Oh yeah - I'd be a "cowgirl bandit" - so I'd need my guns, since I'd be one of the bad guys - lol!

In the old west, it was a polite society because it was armed. In traveling the typical person carried either a rifle or a shotgun, not necessarily a handgun. The shoot-outs depicted in movies and on t.v. were not the norm. By taking the rifle or the shotgun to town, it was an element of protection but there was also the opportunity to put meat on the table. Plus, the protection was not necessarily geared toward protection from man. It would include nature's predators (especially snakes).

If I were living in the Wild West I'd be a showgirl called Mandy McLaddy, and yes - I would indeed take my guns to town, with emphasis on the plural, I'd have on in my boot, one in my stocking, one down the front of my dress and perhaps a smaller pistol concealed in my over-elaborate hairdo....

They'll always be with me - preferably in my boot or down the front of my dress - I think those would be the easiest accessible places for me to grab the guns whilst wearing those over sized unflattering dresses... I'd hate to be the damsel in distress... I'd rather be the female sidekick of the cowboy-ranch dude ! And I'd love to wear those shoes with the stars on at the back of it - they make the coolest sound when you walk...
