I don't think you can. You can paint clear fingernail polish on the posts of nickel earrings and wear them. You will have to reapply after a while.
There are more and more companies making nickel-free jewelry, though. Look for "sensitive solutions" and things like that. I have a watch made by Waltham that I bought at Wal-mart that is nickel-free. They had a lot of different styles to choose from.
Otherwise, you will just have to wear the real thing ... gold or silver!

I've been suffering nickel allergies ever since I was born; there is no way to cure that, the only thing that has work for me all my life is not using imitations; my niece is only 2 yrs and she suffers from the same, the pediatrician said what I just said, no imitations, and everything will be ok. Good Luck

every 1 of these answers is a good answer (in my opinion)
i too cannot wear the "cheap" jewelry... since i was a young girl....
i am now 38 and have a healthy collection of jewelry... watches, rings and earrings too.
i have found that the jewelry at JCPENNYS is awesome... a little on the pricey side...i.e. pair earrings are 25.00 but they are not gold or silver....
they are fake but very stylish.
the hypo allergenic stuff is still crap for me
sensitive soultions are still crap for me
and putting clear polish on everything is a WASTE of time...
i don't know what it is about the jewelry at JCPENNYS but whatever it is it works well with me.
i made my daughter wait until she was 10 to get her ears pierced because i didn't know if she got my "trait" or not and i wanted her to be old enough to help me take care of her ears if she did.. she turned 10 this past july and we have been lucky. so far she has had 1 pair of earrings that made her itch all day at school... she no longer has those earrings... she only has 1 pair of real gold ones.. the others i bought from JCPENNYS and so far so good....
i hope that you will soon find you JCPENNYS and get you some beautiful jewelry... they are the 1 and only place for me!!!
btw... the have awesome sales... up tp 70% off most of the time...
last time i went.. i got almost $100 of jewelry for like $65!!
best wishes and good luck!

" If one is allergic or sensitive to nickel, the best thing to do is to discontinue, whenever possible, exposure to nickel and nickel-containing items. It appears that this is the closest thing there is to a cure.
Here are some precautions to follow to avoid nickel. For clothing, choose fasteners made of plastic, coated or painted metal, or some other material. A nickel allergy does not mean jewelry cannot be worn. One just has to be much more selective in choices -- make sure they are hypoallergenic, or made of stainless steel (although this contains nickel, it is so tightly bound that it cannot be leached out), solid gold (at least 12 carat), pure sterling silver, or polycarbonate plastic. However, if earrings must be worn that contain nickel, protect oneself with plastic covers made specifically for earring studs. Applying clear nail polish to earrings is another option of some use. Since perspiration dissolves nickel, some people have tried removing moisture by applying talcum powder to areas of the body in contact with nickel-containing items in the hopes of limiting the extent or degree of exposure. This is of little use.
Regarding treatments the following are only temporary solutions to a nickel allergy, since they do not desensitize one to nickel. Some nickel allergy treatments include topical steroids, which must be used as directed by a dermatologist; compresses made of Burow's solution diluted with water, which help dry up blisters; and/or, emollient creams, which help alleviate the dryness and itch of dermatitis when frequently applied.
Finally, regardless of one's nickel allergy status and/or exposure to nickel, when having piercing of ears, or other body parts, have it done only with a stainless-steel needle. More importantly, make sure the first pair of earrings have stainless steel or high quality 18-karat gold studs, which is worn until the skin is completely healed. These precautions will help reduce the risk for developing a nickel allergy in the future. "

I have the same problem. Thru the years my mom and my husband have gotten me a few pieces of good jewelry so I can wear earrings or necklaces. I haven't gotten a "real" watch yet, but I did find one that had rubber on the back so the metal doesn't touch my skin. I've tried the clear nail polish on my regular jewelry, but it didn't work. I also tried putting felt on the buckles of my pants, but that didn't work either. Just try to invest in some good jewelry and before you know it you'll have a nice collection.

You can't cure it. I have the same problem. Unfortunately sometimes, even the "sensitive skin" jewelry still causes a reaction. However, if you like the look of white gold, you can wear silver instead. No reactions and it looks just as good.
