I do tend to buy books way faster than I read them. I have a big pile on the floor of my bedroom that I haven't even started yet. When I pick out books, I read them all in chronological order by the copy right date, from oldest to newest.

I have a huge pile of books waiting to be read. I don't particularly have a protocol for how I read them-- normally I just pick whichever I am in the mood for at the moment. Although, sometimes I try to start with the shortest or the lightest read. This way, I can move through the pile a little faster and I feel like I have gotten more done!

I definitely buy them faster than i can read them...Just yesterday i bought 4 books...and last week i bought 3...and i still havn't read atleast 1/3 of the books i have. So my stack of unread books is starting to pile up a lot. My mom won't let me buy anymore books either(that's probably a good thing...for now) and I will read them in chronological order if they are like a series, but if they don't go together i usually read which ever one sounds more interesting first.

Oh god yes, but mainly because I'm only reading them at work which takes me a wee bit longer. Plus I keep getting lent (ie someone gives me a book to read) which I feel obliged to read first. At this point I have something like 20books to read :)
and I agree - if I have more than one book by an author I'll either read them chronologically or in the correct series order (although that's usually also chronologically).

Sometimes when I'm really busy. Other times when I've read all my books I often start going crazy trying to be able to go to the book store, the library, or find something in the house to borrow from one of my other family members.
I don't really have much of a special order unless it's on my book shelf, sort of.

I do buy books faster than I can read them for a period of time. Then I stop buying and start reading - in any order I feel like, though if the books have certain themes, then I tend to read them in batches. At the moment I am going through my "japanese" phase! and have read mostly Geisha books.

No such special protocol. But I suggest you take two books at once... even better if they are very different in contents. Kind of like listening to two different CDs you recently bought.
This way you can finish your 'stashes' faster and enjoy the experience as well. I think it will work for you. sure does for me...
cheers

We have a ton of book shelves. Any book on the coffee table or sideways on the shelf has not been read. When we have read it, it is put on the shelves in alphabetical order by author and within author by title.

I have about 100 books to be read. I have no order for reading, just pick one up that interests me at the moment.
