It seems like everything is so expensive in the stores. They have also been hit with raise in gas etc ... so of course that is passed on to the consumer. Your local social services dept should be able to help , if you meet certain criteria, or you local church food bank. Sometimes we just need a helping hand up and we should all help someone that we know is having a hard time.

You may want to try going to food banks or food pantries. They will give you alot of different kinds of foods including some meats. You can also go to them 2 or 3 times a month and get food for each person in your house. I've been doing this for 3 years now and you'd be amazed how much you will save not having to buy those items they give you at these places. Even if you can't use all of it just go and take what you can use so you don't have to buy it. Contact your local churches or food Banks if you have them and they'll put you in contact with right people. You can get help with bills and clothes and other things sometimes through these people also. I hope this helps you out.

Yep, prices rise. Perhaps if you improved your education you could find a better paying job ?

Contact your local church for a handout, write your local representative pushing for a higher minimum wage, and be selective in your shopping.

Oh... for the response that "Government should ship by train rather than expensive gasoline"... Trains use diesel, just another petroleum product !! Also, in the USA there isn't sufficient rail-systems to make it cost-effective.

Until the govt figures out that they should ship their produce/products by freight train rather than expensive gasoline. As long as the gas is up, so will most commodities...sorry to say. It's pretty tough right now for most. I'd say the charity organizations in your local parishes -- food banks, or the organizations running soup kitchens.

The real poor people can apply for government support. Otherwise, keep on supporting charities who deal with it. You can ask about them in the town hall or church.
