Since week 18 I have felt kicking, the past week it has been stronger than ever! Everytime I lie down I have been able to feel it, and my stomach will sometimes lift about an inch. The other day I went to see the pope, stayed up all night and walked for miles. Since I got back around four I havent felt a thing. Its already 1pm and I'm still not feeling a thing. Could it have been my own exhaustion thats causing this? I just don't understand how it could be so consitant and then stop all of the sudden. How much longer should I wait before going to the doctor?

You really should go give your doctor a call and meet him at the hospital. This could be a sign of fetal distress. They will likely want to monitor the heart rate and perform an ultrasound. This is a true cause for concern. New studies have shown that before a child passes away in utero, there are marked decreases in movement. They believe some of these babies can be saved if delivered soon enough after confirmation of distress. Their chances are better out of the womb in these situations. This is why doctors are putting an increased amount of emphasis on kick counts. You should detect ten movements in an hour long period.

sweetheart, before u panic let me tell u this. my baby stopped m oving for almost a day when i was 38 weeks. i was really worried and i called the maternity ward and asked if i should go in. the midwife was really nice and calmed me and told me to wait another hour or so, and if still nothing, then go in and they would monitor the baby. i was worried, so i went anyways, without waiting. they did my blood pressure, checked the heart beat and put a weird belt thing on my tummy and monitered his movements and heartbeat. it was all very scarry. they explained to me that the baby does move all the time, apart from when its sleeping, but sumtimes they move so gently that u cant feel it. also, some days they r more active than others. it showed on the reading from the machine that he was moving. and as soon as i relaxed, i felt him kicking! so dont panic too much. go to the maternity ward in ur hospital and talk to a midwife there if you still didnt feel your baby move. good luck hunni!

First of all, don't panic. Do go to the doctor like others have suggested just to make sure, but judging from your question, I'd say the little tyke is tired out by your activities, "stayed up all night, walked for miles."
He could be asleep or just too tuckered out to move around much. Babies also stretch and move around and some times we can't feel them doing it.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, but I would go to the doctor and check up on it.

I would go get yourself checked NOW. I am sure there just fine but put your mind at rest. I think they say if you don't feel the baby moving for about 12/15 hours then give your midwife a call just to check. In the meantime I was told once to try an ice cold glass of water...might get them into action again.

I would see a doctor about the baby not moving since the baby was real active before. But with my pregnancy with my daughter she was really lazy I think I only felt her kick twice during the whole pregnancy,

trying poking your stomach a bit, bays sleep alot in utero, have a glass of orange juice and see how the baby reacts to the sugar, also they dont like bright lights, The late second trimester there is begining to be little room for that little one to move around so freely. Good luck!

My dear lady, if there is no movement just go to the doctor and that too on urgent basis. The child once started moving do not hold its movement till birth.

There is an emergency
