Try rubbing a vanish stick on the collars and then wash adding a cup of vanish powder to the wash - this has never failed me yet and I have to wash the local footie team kits!

I use a product call Vanish. It’s a bar of soap that you rub onto your white shirt collars and stained areas before they are put into the washing machine

try, enzymatic cleaning tablets used to clean contact lenses can also be used to remove stains. Dissolve the tablets and sponge the liquid onto the fabric until the stain is gone.

Believe it or not, I use Pinesol cleaner. I put about a cup of it in with a load of dirty greasy workclothes, let them soak for a few minutes and then wash. All the oil traces are gone. By the way, use hot water.

Try making a paste of Barkeeper's Friend and water. Apply to wet fabric and let it work for 15 minutes or so. Rinse well and launder again. Repeat if necessary.

It all depends on the stain and if heat has been applied.
What type of stain is it.
