how long does a black hole live?

That all depends. It used to be thought that nothing can ever escape a black hole. If that were the case, then they would last forever.

However, Stephen Hawking showed that thanks to quantum mechanics, it is indeed possible for black holes to decay. How long that takes would obviously depend on the size of the black hole. We know black holes come in anything from star-sized to galaxy-sized, and they can presumably be smaller than star-sized too (after all, if they decay, they can eventually vanish).

As to how long it takes for a black hole of a given size to decay, I don't know. I don't claim to understand quantum mechanics.

Before entirely evaporated, it takes almost equal time of its build up from tiny size to a massive.
