Another warning to guys, it's about menstration...

Anyone have really heavy for 2 or 3 days w/ lots of clots? I'm kind of concerned it's irregular type of period. I'm so jealous b/c some of my friends have light and no pain!!! AHHHH!

Yes, I have dealt with that forever. No pain, just heavy with clots. According to my obgyn, it was just my uterine lining. More annoying than anything. As I got older, I would notice before starting that my right ovary burned somewhat. I did have a cyst on my ovary and it was removed. I ended up having a hysterectomy, but it was not because it was a necessity. I wanted it done, and because of the cyst and the heavy bleeding with clotting he went ahead and done it. I am glad I had it done, I will be on hormones for about 10 years. Talk to your ob about your period. That is what they are there for.

I used to have the same problem or even worse.I went to doctors and were told it was normal and prescribed pain killers. After some years no pain killer was effective on me.
I went to a gynecologist,he prescribed me "VitaminBcomplex + B12)10 injection per month and Vitamin E that was injected four times.
Then everything was fine.
By the way make sure that there is no infection in your womb as it can cause pain.On the other hand birth control pills will reduce the amount of blood and the pain(but they may have side effects).

I have it pretty light for the whole period, but horrible and I mean horrible, shoot myself in the head, kill me now pain in my stomach and lower back. I just want to die every month. However, I do get occassional clots..maybe one or two for the first couple of days, when it's the heaviest. If you go on birth control, this will lighten the flow of your period. Maybe you aren't getting enough iron either.

I hope this helps! Feel better next month!
Here's some more information on heavy menstration.

Heavy menstrual bleeding is called menorrhagia when it follows normal cycles and can have various underlying causes. Common causes include uterine polyps and uterine fibroids but there are many possibilities. One of the lesser known but surprisingly common causes of chronic menorrhagia is Von Willebrand's disease, a congenital bleeding disorder. Undiagnosed cases of VWD are sometimes wrongly treated by hysterectomy to resolve their menorrhagia symptoms. Any symptom of excessive menstrual bleeding needs prompt professional medical investigation.

Yes I get really heavy periods with lots of clots. It has always been that way, they are way painful. I use Ponstan or Naprosyn as soon as my periods start. I have had 4 children and my periods have not changed, I was always told that they would lessen with the birth of each child but that was bull.

You shouldnt have clots and periods shouldnt be extremely heavy.
Go See your doctor and see if you can go on the pill.

Your period sounds the same as mine used to be but then i went on the pill.

Your doctor might send you for a ultra sound to make sure there is nothing wrong with your uterus and overies my doctor did and i found out i have polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Seeing your doctor is the best thing to do.

Yea, it's normal. If you feel the pain is too much, then you should talk to your doctor. The pill and other medication like it can make your period lighter and shorter and regulate your cycle. Incase you're wondering or some of your friends with those light cycles are on it.

used to, used to be afraid of moving. i never did anything about it though, but it seemed to help by every time i went for a wee, i stayed there for about 3 mins as most of the clots went down the loo. try a hot water bottle when you can. everyone is different.
