...for some time now and am desperate to get out, but need not to have a major drop in my salary (17 k) .I am a head chef at the moment and would love to maybe combine my love of cooking with my degree. Or do lab work, but this is hard to get into without doing voluntary work. I live in the West Midlands, England and would need work within 80 miles of here...

I can empathise with you .. I have a PhD in Business and two Masters in Biology (Enviromental and Marine) and I teach English as a foreign language .. what do you do ? find something else to occupy your time .. remember "what's for you, wont go past" .. and keep looking .. write to those people you think may have positions available in your chosen career .. Never lose faith in yourself
