Being a very sensitive person, I believe people shouldn't tease anyone at all weird or not weird. I think people tease other people because they don't look first deep into their heart and imagine other people teasing them first. If they do, they would understand what it is like to be teased. Why tease? No one is perfect for goodness sake. Think before you tease because you might be next.

I'm not from Melbourne...But I do not tolerate that behaviour no matter where I am.

It's all about the basic attitude of treating others with the same level of healthy respect that you want for yourself.

Everyone is unique due to their varying genetic makeup, their different personalities, their likings. But there may be more to a weird person that just what you see, because what people sometimes perceive as weird is as someone unlike oneself or deviates from norms of the society. But who knows how many similarities there may be? He/she is also human and has feelings. I have this friend who you may call weird, because of her liking for goth and grim outlook of life, finding skeletons cute...but non-tolerant people may overlook the many similarities she share with others, such as a genuine affection for kittens and appreciation for company...

Imagine, if you were handicapped, wouldn't it be perfect if people could start treating you just by the standards that would be for a normal person?

How would you feel if you were bagged and teased for no reason other than to be yourself, which is perfectly legal since the person has a right to have a sense of personal identity? I'm sure it sucks, right?

No , it is against law of humanity to tease and hurt a person, no wonder how weird he is. No body wants to be weird, it is not in our hand if we are born like that. And if you are not born like that but have started to behave weird...then there is always some serious reason behind it. One should try to find the cause of this behavior and not tease and hurt feelings.

I think that is a very bad attitude...teasing someone just because he is weird-looking! I mean, be sensitive...try to understand that human being have individual differences. He's style may not suit you but who cares, that's his personal choice. If you really think that he needs help then, try to help but other than that NO. All people deserves to be respected especially if he ain't doing anything against you so just live your life well and spare them.

I had a classmate in 4th grade that was picked on by almost the entire school. I felt so sorry for her seeing her crying while being harassed by a group of kids. I tried to make friends with her, but I guess she was so traumatized that she lashed out at me scratching my arms with her nails.

I don't know whatever happened to her, but I hope she's happier now than she was back then. I'd like to think she remembers me and that I tried to help her.
