if you are new to goldfish get comets, they have good colour and are tough, no weird problems caused by to much fin or bulgy eyes.

Go into a pet shop and look at them and the one that gives you the big ol goldfish puppy eyed look and presses its lil lips to the tank take it those are the ones that always get me lol

I prefer Orandas. They're the ones that look like they've got brains on top of their head. They're very hardy. They just need space (10 gallons per fish) and good filtration (get a filter that has a flow rate ten times the size of your aquarium, so a 200GPH for a 20 gallon aquarium.) They grow fast, and they're quite comical.

I got the 20 cent ones at petsmart they are pretty hardy and fast, mine dash all over the tank :)
