Do most people treat relationships as emotional vacation spots because of our throw away society, or do most want to fall in love, and make a genuine effort to make it work?

That´s a really interesting question. Hmmm.....I would actually say that not being in a relationship would be the emotional vacation, cuz when you´re in a relationship, you´ve gotta work hard to make it work, you´re emotions are always switched "on" if you will, but when you´re single and not lookin for a relationship, you´re taking a break. And yes i do think that people geniunely make an effort to make things work, bcuz they want to fall in love, and they want to be happy. Its not the feeling of escaping from reality for a little while that makes them feel happy, its the feeling of being in love....that feeling of floating is just somethin that comes with it. But this is just my opinion anyway. I dunno if i´ve been of much help, but i hope i have. :)

Have a nice day!

I think it depends alot on age and past relationships. For instance I am a female 34 years old. I've had a few relationships in the past along with a few heartbreaks. I'm married now and trying to make it work for the past few years. It's not working so I'm having an affair to fullfill what's missing. Do I want true love? Yes but when I married my husband it was for convenience I had given up on love until I met my lover. Although I can never have him completely he helps fullfill the void in my life.
