Yeah you might as well make the laptop a plugged in all the time laptop. Since you have changed out the battery that should have fix the problem and then have battery power. Thats only with normal problems. On the motherboard a capacitor in the power supply that transfers power to the battery is out. To fix that....................Well new laptop. So, If the laptop is still working but only with it plugged in then I would suggest keep doing what your doing and not spend money on another laptop right now.

If you've changed out the battery then it's not the battery itself, it has to be the laptop that's not recognizing that the battery has a charge. Perhaps your connections from the battery into the laptop need cleaned... sometimes that'll help a lot. Definitely sounds like it's more of a hardware problem than anything tho!

Batteries have so called "memory effect", that holds true I think even until now, at least a L-Ion battery for my laptop was gone that way.

This "memory effect" is saying each battery can be accumulating dead atoms that won't hold electricity anymore; there are expiry dates on them for this reason, is the battery really "new" as in just got off factory fresh but uncharged or this "new" was a second hand off someone else?

Memory effect explains first one going bad, but have you conditioned and checked it is indeed new without memory before use? Now I leave my laptop empty without battery if I know it is going to be used at home. Staving off memory effect as I can except age of battery.
